Black & Yellow
Happy Wednesday everyone! I’m really excited because this time next week I will be in Beverly Hills for Lucky Magazine’s Lucky FABB conference! There are going to be so many great speakers and bloggers at the event. I’m looking forward to meeting not only some of the local Seattle bloggers, but others from the greater Pacific Northwest. Follow me on Twitter and Instagram to keep up with my adventures next week, and of course, what I’m wearing!
My jewelry obsession has taken a turn for the worse since I discovered Lulu Frost. I honestly can’t even remember how I stumbled upon this designer, but to say I’m in love is an understatement! Today I’m featuring the Plaza “K” Necklace, part of the Plaza collection. This necklace, available in both numbers and letters, is bronze cast and is in the original font of New York’s iconic Plaza Hotel. I stared at this piece for weeks because it’s definitely an investment, but I could not be more happy with it! (I’m also a sucker for any type of personalization).
I’ve been wearing this piece with everything from casual weekend wear to businesswear. I’ve worn it alone, layered with shorter necklaces (as seen here) and layered with longer necklaces. I built my outfit around this necklace, pulling in blacks and brass colors to help this piece really “pop”. I highly recommend checking out Lulu Frost. I’m also the proud owner of this beautiful Lulu Frost for J.Crew piece and this Lulu Frost for Of a Kind piece.
Another one of my new and noteworthy obsessions are these great pony barrettes from France Luxe. They are perfect for pulling your hair back quickly while on the go without pulling and damaging your hair like a normal hair tie (and more stylish). For my blog I normally wear my hair down, but during the day at work I tend to pull my hair back and these barrettes are perfect for doing just that!

I’m addicted to buying statement necklace’s and Lulu Frost is an enabler… I love your pieces and have been stopping myself from getting that “Letter” necklace, but after staring at your pics… idk I might cave!

I just LOVE your blog. I myself am a sales manager at a hotel in AZ but I love fashion. Ive considered starting a blog recently. I know I have so many expenses on my own now that I have moved away from my parents so I do fashion on a strict budget. I am so curious how you afford all the pricey fashion pieces and statement necklaces? I’m nearly envious–what is your income! I noticed you live at home-is that how you can afford this lifestyle? I am proud to be independent, but I also wish money grew on trees. I LOVE fashion so much. I’d love to hear back from you.

Nevaeh – Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! I’m glad to hear you love it! I definitely like to spend money on quality pieces, and that’s the key – I don’t wear head to toe expensive pieces. I will invest in a piece like this Plaza K necklace, but everything else I’m wearing (in this post) came from Nordstrom Rack or no-name stores. I work full-time, and while I do live at home I have a much longer commute (more gas) than most, a car payment, student loans, etc so I do have quite a few expenses. I work full-time and have a good career, which helps with the bills and gives me some spending money! I’ve also been making some additional funds on Poshmark selling older items!

I’m a curvy girl, but I still would like to find a stylish swimwear. Do you have any reccomdations on stylish swimwear for the curvy girl?
Thank you
Monica chapstil
Hi Monica,
I’ve had a lot of luck with Lane Bryant in the past. They’ve created some stylish swimwear and was just in there the other week and saw some cute new suits! If you’re looking for more of an investment (a swimsuit that is classic and will last you years), I’ve heard the Miraclesuits are great! Feel free to shoot me an email at [email protected] and I will send you some suggestions!
Thanks,
Kate
I happened across this post again today and it’s one of my favorite of your casual outfits! The yellow is so bright and happy, and I love that you can pair this shirt with jeans and cute flats and be comfy but cute.
