What to Pack: The Big Island
I bet you didn’t know that Hawaii has ten of the world’s 14 climate zones on the Big Island. Because of this diverse landscape you’ll need to pack a fairly diverse suitcase as well. Of course you’ll need the essential Hawaii-gear (think swimsuits, shorts, and tanktops), appropriate wear for rain and, depending on your adventures, you may also need cold weather gear like scarves and long pants!
Jon and I made it to 9 of the climate zones, and luckily for me, I packed better than the last time we went to Hawaii. Here’s our essentials list if you plan on visiting the majority of the climate zones!
Shoes & Clothing for Her
In addition to the normal shorts, swimsuits, tank tops, and sandals, make sure to pack light layers, a packable rain jacket, hiking pants, and a scarf.

Obviously pack the sunscreen! We also bring along our Tesalate beach towels which are fast-drying and sand-repellent. Sounds too good to be true, but I promise you, it isn’t!
