2018 in Review

Style

The last week I’ve been watching so many reminisce about their 2018 highlights. It’s been so fun watching all that has been done and accomplished this year, but I noticed something that’s more often than not been missing: acknowledgement of the hard things we went through in 2018. Remember, life is more than just the highlight reel you see on social media.

Today I’m honoring the good, the bad, and the mundane, because all of those things, made 2018 what it is:
I started weightlifting.
I got into the best shape of my life.
Had my gym close.
Built a garage gym.
Bought a trailer with a crazy dream of rebuilding it.
I planned the wedding of my dreams.
Did more DIY projects than I can count.
Completed the trailer renovation just in time for the wedding.
I got to marry the love of my life.
Watched my mom get sicker and sicker with seemingly no explanation.
Survived the unknown of her health, only to experience the same with mine.
Watched my mom get stronger and stronger.
I had surgery.
I recovered quickly even though I’m ending the year not as physically strong as I had hoped.
I traveled more.
Tried skiing for the first time.
Felt amazing in a bikini.
Had my first girls trip with my best friends.
Fell in love with the country of Colombia.
I completed my first backpacking trip and liked it.
Was honored with a 30 Under 30 award.
Got promoted.
Considered quitting blogging multiple times.
Paid off my car.
Came home to a supportive partner.
Snuggled my cats every night.
Ate way more chocolate chip cookies than necessary.
Started dance lessons and learned to waltz, rumba, cha cha, and swing.
Thanks for the memories 2018.
