23 Years Young
Today is my 23rd birthday! It’s hard to believe I’ve made it this far in life, it seems like just yesterday I turning 16 and learning how to drive! In my 22nd year of life I have made some great accomplishments. I graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in May, landed an internship at a great company and was promoted, travelled to Iceland, and started this blog. I have met so many amazing people over the last year, many of whom have become great friends. I am excited to see all of the things I will accomplish in the next year!
As I reflect on 23 years of life I am also reflecting on two decades of friendship with my best friend Liz. We have watched each other grow up, supported one another and more often than not we’ve hated each other, but for some reason we keep coming back to one other. Liz is the sister I never had, and we are lucky enough to both have April birthdays (she’s two weeks older and clearly it shows!). Every year for our birthdays we go to the Cheesecake Factory in Seattle and gorge ourselves on amazing food. I say that we’re lucky to have such close birthdays — saves us lots of money and calories!
Here’s to many more birthdays (but once we hit 30 we won’t age), and to many more years of friendship! And may we never be too old to have a tea party on your lawn wearing pretty dresses with teddy bears! (But only on your lawn, it’d be much too embarrassing to have a tea party on my lawn!).
Happy Birthday Kate! Glad you think I’m an “amazing” person. 😀
Only because on your lawn we would be attacked by killer bees… which is why we had all the tea parties under water at your house. Hold your breath long enough and we can drink ALL THE TEA! Parp!
