Chic Grunge

It has been so chilly lately! All I want to do is cuddle up in warm sweaters and leggings with a cup of hot chocolate. Unfortunately, there’s this thing called work and I have look to presentable. At the end of the week, I’m just ready to be cozy though, so I pulled together an appropriate casual-office look. The guys in the office (you know who you are), decided that my boots were “cool” and “grunge” so we termed this my Chic Grunge look.

The tight-knit merino wool with sequin side detailing make this perfect for the office and make me feel ready for the holidays. Combined with my favorite leggings and casual boots it was perfect for this chilly day!
Don’t you just love how accessories really make this outfit? It would be totally plain without it but my scarf, necklace, and bag add depth to the outfit. I have been searching high and low for a magnifying glass style necklace and finally found one! The details on the piece are so intricate and the gold is so striking. I found it in this fabulous jade green color and just couldn’t resist. It’s perfect for work and carrying my laptop, spare chargers, my DSLR, and there’s still room for more! I also like how it has a long crossbody strap and top flap closure – it protects my gear when I’m walking through the lovely Washington rain!
