Poshmark: Shop My Closet
It’s no secret that I love shopping. Whether in store or online it’s one of my all-time favorite things do. Bored? Time to shop. Rough day at work? How about a little retail therapy. Broken heart? New pair of shoes. Promotion at work? New handbag. Shopping can be the cure for almost anything. But with all of the shopping, there are two things that happen: (1) I end up with way too much stuff, and (2) There are many items I don’t buy on the spot but decide I want, but are gone when I go back to buy them. On top of these obstacles is of course the ever dwindling bank account. Luckily, I’ve come across a little app to help me with these problems!
A few weeks ago I attended an event hosted by Poshmark, an app that allows you to shop the closets of women around the country. The event was fantastic, and I was able to meet some fabulous new friends. I noticed that a number of women at the event had sold clothes and accessories through the Poshmark app, but I was still skeptical. I didn’t understand how this one app could solve my problems. Encouraged by seeing that people I actually knew were making sales, I decided to do some more research and give the app a try.
A few days later I made my first listing. (I uploaded this beautiful Kate Spade clutch that I’ve never used, hoping to find it a new home). The process is incredibly easy – you snap a few pictures of what you want to sell and then fill in details about it (brand, size, price, etc), and then voila! It’s posted to your Poshmark closet. Quickly this became a habit. I love being able to list items in closet that I never wear or use anymore and watching them sell is great. It’s good to see some high quality items find good homes!
What I like about Poshmark is that selling is easy, and they do all of the work for you. You simply list it and then interact with your community. Once you sell something Poshmark sends you the shipping label, you package it up, drop it in the mail, and you’re done!
Come find me on Poshmark, I’ll gladly bundle or haggle with you on prices!

Can I ask you a question? (While I’m waiting for Poshmark customer service to return my email….) I’m new in the last month to Poshmark.
Someone made me an offer which I accepted. Printed the shipping label and While I was in line at PO to have it scanned in, opened the app to see Buyer sent me a comment stating she notice her payment method had expired. I went to search and see a buyer cannot change their payment method after a purchase has been made. The paragraph went on to say the seller (me) would need to create a New listing and the buyer would (after updating their payment method) need to make the purchase again.
So my question is- Poshmark never sent me anything saying “wait! This shipping label isn’t valid because the payment method had expired!” So had I not happened to see her comment, or if she was a Schiester and Never told me, would I Never get paid, despite having shipped the item?
I created a new Listing this morning and she has Repurchased it. So do I just now Print the new label and slap it on top f the old label?…
Does that make sense? 🙂
Hey Amy!
That’s weird… To me it sounds like the buyer maybe realized she had a different payment method than she wanted to use (for example maybe she recently paid off the balance of the card she had on file and wanted to use a diff card). In my experience, if a buyer tries to buy something and anything in the card info is invalid or expired Posh won’t allow the transaction to go through in the first place, the buyer gets a notification to update the card info on file. If it was made through the offers section and you accepted an offer you’d also get a notification that the sale did not go through due to buyer needing to update their information.
If you shipped before the buyer told you that, you should still get your money because it sounds like the buyer didn’t cancel the order, she asked you to cancel it. Now that she’s repurchased did you cancel the original order? Cancel that one and then use the new label and ship out. Does that help?
